Water Safety

  • Never leave a child unsupervised in or around water: swimming pools, hot tubs, bath tubs, toilets, buckets, etc.
  • Close toilet seat covers.
  • Swim with a buddy. Never swim alone.
  • Install proper fencing which is four sided and at lease five feet high, equipped with self-closing and self-latching gates
  • Always wear approved personal flotation devices when riding in a boat or other water vehicle or whenever you are at risk of falling into water.
  • Know your limits.
  • Refrain from alcohol consumption, illicit drugs and rough play around water.
  • Never let anyone drink while operating or driving a water vehicle.
  • Do not use air-filled toys such as water wings or floats in place of life jackets.
  • Swim in safe areas.
  • Be careful about diving. Never dive into water you are not familiar with.
